While this old slate roof should be replaced in its entirety, the client opted for a "fix" for now, and we have just the right product. The granulated roof material inferior and deteriorating, and the copper rain gutter was completely worn through and no longer holding water. We replaced the undersized copper gutter with a high back 6"K copper, then began building our roof system with primer, fiberglass remat inlaid into the first coating and two additional coats to protect this roof for decades to come.
This old home was overdue for some renewal projects. One phase of our contract was to remove two old, painted copper roofs on bay windows and replace with new 16oz standing seam copper. What a nice aesthetical improvement.
This beautiful home is only 9 years old but has been experiencing some various leaks and water penetrations. After an involved inspection we determined that the source of the leaks were from a faulty EPDM rubber roof on the rear balcony, below a floating Ipe deck as well as on the sky high chimney crown and at various points around the chimney stack. We attacked both projects with professional grade liquid plastic membrane with fiberglass remat reinforcement, after various prerequisite carpentry and masonry repairs.
This 9 year old chimney crown was poured too thin and prematurely cracked as a result, letting water into the house in various places. We began with a completely masonry overhaul of the crown, incorporating steel mesh into our new concrete crown pour. Then, we applied a liquid plastic membrane to encase the entire crown, protecting it for decades to come from water.
